Abstract

This paper looks into the impact of the cultural, social, and psychological forces on consumer behaviour, whereby the aim of this paper is to establish a comprehensive view about the effect of these forces in determining consumer buying behaviour in various market settings. The research methodology speaks of the systematic review and synthesis of the literature available, which combines the results of cross-cultural studies, social-economic studies, and studies of behaviors. The analysis points out that cultural values, beliefs, social norms, religion, ethnicity and lifestyles have a great influence in consumer perceptions, preference, and decision making. Also, psychological factors like motivation, perception and social influence are also additional factors that mediate consumer decisions in various cultural contexts. The findings suggest that people belonging to collectivistic cultures are more likely to focus on the group norms and social approval, and people belonging to individualistic cultures are more likely to focus on their preferences and independence. This research comes to the conclusion that marketing research is critical to comprehend cultural diversity, create successful marketing plans, improve the experience of customers, and international businesses. It also indicates that the adaptive and culturally sensitive strategies are essential to organizations that deal with a global market.
