Interdisciplinary Perspectives on Economic Growth: Integrating Social Sciences and Management Practices

Abstract

The interdisciplinary approach to social sciences has become very important in the attempts to solve complex socioeconomic and developmental issues in the contemporary world. The purpose of this study is to discuss the contribution and the role of interdisciplinary integration to improving the quality of research, policy formulation and sustainable development outcomes. The approach includes qualitative and analytical literature review that is based on disciplinary intersection, i.e., economics, management, sociology, and public policy. Data analysis was conducted in a systematic manner to tell patterns or trends, and collaborative structures which lead to successful interdisciplinary practices. The findings show that interdisciplinary research leads to innovation, enhancement in solving problems, and offering comprehensive solutions to real world problems like economic growth, environmental sustainability and social equity. Moreover, it improves the incorporation of knowledge and can contribute to the evidence-based decision-making in a variety of industries. The research finds that interdisciplinary methodologies are the key to the development of the social science research and long-term sustainable development indicators. It also points out the necessity of more institutional backing, joint settings, and combined system of learning and study to encourage cross-disciplinary learning and studies.
